- Practice pacing: Anyone preparing for the GMAT should take a few computer-based practice exams to focus on pacing through the test. The integrated reasoning section in the GMAT that he took had a lot of charts and graphs, so applicants studying for the test should be prepared to interpret those types of data.
- Allow sufficient study time: While preparing for GMAT one must allow sufficient study time and must utilize their time efficiently.Start early and mark down the important points that can be used at later stages while studying.Never hurry things up so that you can complete your studying.
- Eliminate pre-test jitters: This is done by thorough practice of the papers and one must have self-confidence in themselves while preparing for GMAT exams. Giving mock tests before appearing for any type of competitive exams will help eliminate pre-test jitters that the students face while giving the exam.
- Learn to navigate among content types: The most difficult aspect in a GMAT exam, is digesting large amount of data and navigating back and forth among different text, tables, and graphs. one solution is that quickly scanning the data first, then reading the questions carefully, and then going back to the data and carefully analyzing the relevant section is more effective.
- Practice at your ability level: One should know his/her ability to solve the problem. Applicants studying for the test should practice GMAT problems at their ability level. If you are scoring 550 on practice exams, doing 700+ level questions isn’t going to help you, because you’ll never see those questions on test day . You need to master the 500- and 600-level questions first.” Also review all of the correct answers, why your answer is correct, and why the other answers are incorrect. This may not help as much for the quantitative section, but it helps immensely for the verbal section.
